About Us

LAZYDAYS is owned and run by Avril & Philip Wooster who have a long history of owning, breeding and working with horses. Avril managed a large livery yard on the outskirts of London for many years, also owned a riding school. Philip and Avril had a livery yard in Hertfordshire and also bred Arabian horses which Avril trained and raced. Phil has past experience of working with shire horses and showing them. Since moving to Devon we have bred cattle and still breed Boer goats which graze alongside the horses and ponies. This works well as the goats eat what the horse won't and keep the grazing perfect.
All horses and ponies are treated as if our own and cared for in a quiet, calm loving environment. We do not have any other liveries so there is not the hustle and bustle of a livery yard......just peace, quiet and contentment.

 LAZYDAYS is set in 54 acres of stunning, quiet Devon countryside where we make all our own hay. The horses and ponies are grazed in herd groups. We do not use electric fencing and if prone to laminitis a suitable field is always available to ensure no lush grass.

LAZYDAYS is here for your horse or pony right to the last and we will not waver in our our love and respect for them.


Our Services

SERVICES

LAZYDAYS is a specifically designed 10 horse stable complex for the well being and enjoyment of retired horses and ponies. They will be stabled in winter in 20 x 25 large airy stables designed for sociability with their friends and companions. The horses and ponies have ad lib hay at their disposal 24/7 and automatic water drinkers. In the winter they have one feed a day, (supplements and extra or specific feed to be paid for separately). They are bedded on barley straw. Feet trims and worming are part of the package, (shoeing and any remedial work required is charged as an extra). Unfilled rugs are cleaned within the package, other rugs and repairs are charged for as sent out to be done. Any veterinary costs are borne by the owner but our time is free if required to deal with any treatments. Our equine vet is superb and is very kind and understanding. We have an excellent equine dentist on call also for those who need it, (Cushings long coats), a lady that clips out quietly and and calmly on even the spookiest of horses. We will always be there for your treasured friend and inform you if anything is wrong immediately so you can be instrumental in any decision making.

FEES

We charge a flat rate fee of £55 a week all year round. This includes all as stated in our services, extras to be paid by owner. We require one month in advance to be paid by Bank transfer on the 1st of the month. We will give one months notice should there be a need to, for any reason, we require one months notice if you no longer require your horse or pony to be here.
